About Us

Task Karate was founded in 1988, with a mission of promoting individual growth and development.  It has been our goal for over 30 years that every student whatever age has the opportunity to excel and focus on improving their lives through Martial Arts practice. Classes include: Traditional Karate, Sport Karate, Aikido, Jiu Jitsu, and Fitness Kickboxing.

The Academy is operated by Kevin Johannes - Hanshi 8th degree black belt.  Hanshi Johannes has been training, teaching and competing since 1977, and this year celebrates his 40th Anniversary since he began his Martial Arts journey.  In addition to a traditional Koei-Kan Karate background under Inasio Anzures, Jack Sabat, and the late Brian Frost, his experience also includes participation in numerous local and international competitions.  Johannes holds six MSKC State Championship titles, eight WKC National Championship titles and is the 2015 WKC World Champion in traditional weapons.  His competition record is complimented by the many students who have earned their own State, National and World titles.
